Favorite Summer Accessories

I love summer because I love bright colors. I am always drawn to bright color wherever I go especially when I am shopping. This summer was no exception. When Ray-Ban came out with these orange aviators I just took one look and said YAASS. I had to have them! They are beautiful and perfect for summer! I have gotten so many compliments on them and now I want more Ray-Ban's.

I have also been obsessed with these Alex and Ani bracelets. I usually don't like bracelets, I normally buy rings, necklaces and earrings but these have all been gifted to me by one person or another. So not only are they beautiful stacked together but each bracelets reminds me of a different person so they are that more special to me.

Does perfume count as an accessory? If not oh well because I have been obsessed with these two. The Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede I have had for a while and love it! More times than not I am wearing this. Sticking with the floral scent the Elizabeth and James Nirvana White has been giving Jo Malone a run for their money this month. I only have this in a sample size roller ball but am just gonna have to cave soon and buy the full size version. It smells incredible and I need it. Is that a good justification?

Bold Summer Lip

Can we just take a moment of silence to appreciate the beautiful packaging please....ok now that is out of the way! This is my first YSL makeup purchase and even though I cringed a little bit when I purchased it I have no regrets! You really do pay for quality.

This is my go to bold summer lip the Rouge Volupté Shine in 12 or Coral Incandescent. It is the perfect coral shade, on me is more of a pinky coral but still so beautiful! My favorite part about the product apart for the gorgeous packaging, is how long wearing it is. Even when the color fades from my lips the product leave behind a lovely stain so I don't have that awkward lipstick know what I'm talking about, when the color is gone from the inner part of your lips but likes to linger on the outer corners! This does not do that at all! I want more! I am hooked!

I think another shade is in my near future...

Favorite Cream Products

In the summer time not only do I go for products that are easy and quick to use but also products that adhere to the skin well. I would prefer not to have my makeup slipping and sliding all over the place like a water park. This means that I use more cream products in the summer than any other time in the year.

It is no secret by now that I love bronze eye shadow. I find it is such a sexy, sultry, beautiful color that looks good on everyone! It is not as harsh as your traditional black smokey eye but still alluring. Now combine that with my laziness and you have these two eye products.

The Rimmel Scandal Eye Paint in Rich Russet is the 'wettest' eyeshadow I have worked with. At first it can be a little bit daunting because it is a liquid eyeshadow but once applied it dries beautifully. I just apply it straight from the tube and swipe it on my eyes. I either use my fingers or a synthetic eyeshadow brush to blend it out. My only caution is to work quickly because once this product sets it will not budge. Which is great and dries into that beautiful bronze I love.

The Maybelline Color Tattoo's have been around for quite some time. I have a few shades but my favorite is Bad to the Bronze. The name says it all. There are countless reviews on this stuff so I will simply say it is fool proof and if you have not tried it, go out to the drug store and pick it up ASAP!

Last but not least is the Bobbi Brown Pot Rogue. This can be used on both the cheeks and lips and it really does look beautiful on both. I love the consistency of this stuff. It is 'sticky' enough to adhere to both the lips and cheeks but not feel funky on the skin. It is very long wearing and very easy to blend.

See a trend here...fool proof=my laziness...

Sweat Proof Face

For those of you that do not know. I'm from Texas. I say y'all, Bluebell vanilla ice cream is my favorite, and I love TexMex food. There is my proof. That being said I no stranger to sweltering heat. I grew up with 100 degree weather every summer being a guarantee. So I know what makeup can withstand melting off my face or not.

First things first I never wear a full foundation in the summer unless I am going to be inside mostly, my skin looks terrible and needs the extra coverage or its a special event. So a tinted moisturizer is best, and my favorite right now is the NARS version. It has SPF and gives me enough coverage. Plus it is very long lasting. Even on my oily skin.

Since I am not wearing a foundation, I choose a heavier concealer and the MAC Pro-Longwear concealer is tried and true. It does not go anywhere once applied! I will literally cover anything!!!! I MEAN ANYTHING! Just blend out with your fingers, because skin to skin contact is the best for blending since it picks up the additional product plus the heat from your skin will help the product sink in faster.

Now onto the eyes. I have wear eye primer personally my eyelids just get so oily. Now I find myself applying primer even if I am not wearing eyeshadow that day. I just don't like oily eyelids. In the summer I can't be bothered to spend to much time on my makeup so I go for a one swipe wonder like the Bobbi Brown eyeshadow sticks. One swipe across the lids, blended with my fingers and I'm done! All that is left is to apply a mascara. I use waterproof mascara more in the summer and my favorite is the Cover Girl Lash Blast.

Last but not least to set everything I will spray my trusty Urban Decay De-Slick setting spray. It helps to keep the oil at bay for a few more hours than if I do not spray it. Plus a cooling mist on the face in the summer feels fantastic!

Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade

As promised in my last favorites I would put a review up of the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade. First off this product was nearly impossible to find! It was sold out online for the longest time, I had no idea what shade I would be and in stores it was never on the shelves in any color that could possibly be a match for me.

Randomly, my best friend I were in Sephora, we are often in Sephora...anyway, we just happened to pass by the Anastasia counter and they actually had just received a new shipment of the product! We were both quickly matched to our shades and I walked away with the dark brown shade and the brush! I'm not one to normally buy the brush that goes with the product but this time I am happy that I did because having the spool on the other end is so convenient and the product really does apply well with the brush.

The product itself is as amazing as it was raved to be! This stuff seriously does not budge once applied. I typically apply it with the brush and then comb it through with the spool on the other end. I do not even set it with clear mascara or any kind of gel, it just stays put on its own! My one concern was that the pomade would make my eyebrows look fake or feel heavy on my skin. But really, the way I use it, I just fill in the spaces and my eyebrows still look natural and it is lightweight on the skin.

Overall I love this product and it is perfect for summer weather. So not that you need anymore peer pressure but go out and buy this! It's worth it!
